Football and Peace.

When passion joins dreams. War icons turned into symbols for hope. The journey of the amputees’ football team from Sierra Leone looking for their self-respect.

Not just one goal. But also one passion. This documentary short film makes us witnesses of the way towards Peace that a group of young amputees began some years ago. Thanks to their powerful play, they have managed to become an example for their society. Originally war icons, they have managed to turn their lives into future icons by means of a passion: football.

ONE GOAL The project

The Project One Goal shows and inspires how amputee football can be a toll for peace and reconstruction and can change the perception of disability in African society.

A more than 10 years project started in 2001 by the award winning photographer Pep Bonet and filmmaker Sergi Agusti.

One Goal Project make us witness of that transmission of energy and hope and the impact and transformation in the society and families.

And also bout the expansion of amputee football around Africa as an instrument to make awareness on disable people rights and as a tool for reintegration of Amputees.

A claim to the construction of African civil and engaging activities with a real impact and change of perception in the Community.

“Now I ́m able to do things that I could never have done before. I have travelled and seen amputees from other countries and they are loved and respected.

That’s I want to keep on fighting for the amputees’ and disable people’s rights in Africa. There are still a lot them crawling and begging on the street. You can see them at night. Nobody wants them.”

Spanish Tour 2010

One Goal Spanish tour during May 2010. Football as a tool educate. The Amputee team of Sierra Leone organized different activities in Barcelona, Burgos, Cadiz and Madrid. Schools, Universities, exhibitions and meetings to advocate about the rights of people with disabilities.
